News posted by www.newsinfoline.com

New Delhi, Jul 29 (PTI) After Rajya Sabha member Mani Shankar Aiyar''s strong criticism of Commonwealth Games, Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken today said there should not be any conflicting voice on the event as the world is watch India''s preparation for the sporting extravaganza. "I don''t think, he (Aiyar) could have made such a statement. Lot of money is being spent on the construction of world-class infrastructure for Commonwealth Games. These are long term assets and we should be proud of it. When the world is watching our preparations, there should not be any conflicting voice at this moment," Maken said. He was replying to a question on Aiyar''s controversial remarks on the Games that he would be "unhappy" if the Commonwealth Games were a success and that only "evil" will patronise such events. Aiyar, earlier in the day, said he would speak on the CWG issue after October 15 when the event gets over.
